  1. PURPOSE:  State briefly (two or three sentences) the overall purpose of the position.  Include how the position contributes to the company’s and/or department’s vision and goals.
 
The Plant Janitor is responsible for maintaining the sanitary condition of the entire facility’s common areas.  This includes the hallways, stairs, elevator, locker rooms, bathrooms, lunchrooms, conference rooms, and offices.   
 
  1. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  Describe the essential responsibilities of this position, which are critical to the successful performance of the job.  Each statement should specify the purpose of the responsibility, how it is accomplished and the end result.  Start each statement with an action verb (i.e., “record”, “operate”, “prepare”, “develop”, “schedule”, etc.).
 
  • All plant personnel have the responsibility to monitor and report any deviations from our Food Safety and Food Quality (HACCP & SQF) programs to your immediate supervisor.
  •         Clean all the floors using a vacuum cleaner, broom, and mop with hot cleaning solution.
  •         Clean all windows and mirrors in the plant common areas and the ASRS. 
  •         Clean all toilets and sinks in the plant common areas and the ASRS.
  •         Empty all trash (indoor & outdoor) and recycle cans in the plant offices, common areas and the ASRS and maintain trash room.
  •         Stock janitorial supplies.
  •         Responsible for recording janitorial task list daily.

5. KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:  Describe the knowledge and skills needed for competent performance of the position.  Specify why the knowledge or experience is required by referring to how it is used in performing the essential responsibilities.
 
  • Completion of Alchemy training related to Janitorial, PPE, chemical handling.
  • Strong, honest work ethic with ability to handle multiple tasks daily.
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal direction.
6. Physical Requirements:  Describe the specific physical requirements needed for this position.
Must possess the physical ability to work in a cool, wet environment with temperatures ranging between 34-38 degrees inside the plant or outside in adverse weather conditions will be a requirement.  Standing, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, repetitive bending, repetitive stooping, repetitive reaching with arms and repetitive grasping with hands and fingers. Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently. Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced environment working around production machines, warehouse equipment, forklifts, large trucks, and tankers.
